Stuart is a constant student of life. He emphasizes that yoga is not just something we do. As beautiful as the asana practice (physical postures) can be, they are but a little piece of such an incredible puzzle. Over time and through continual practice, we come to know the beautiful state of yoga. Being yoga and shining from your true nature, rather than just doing yoga, is what Stuart is drawn to as a student. This is the main message of his teachings.
In 2007, after a year of travelling and studying in various parts of the world, he fell in love with Toronto and spent a couple of years soaking up its vibrant, progressive, and inspiring energy. It was in Toronto that his love for yoga moved from being a physical practice to something much more profound. Thanks to Angela Jarvis Read and her poetic and healing style of teaching, Stuart was inspired to dive deeper into yoga philosophy. He found that his new studies in yoga and life coaching began to weave organically into his background as a fitness trainer. Quite quickly more and more clients and students desired yoga and life coaching services from Stuart rather than fitness training.
Life evolved immensely for Stuart in 2009 and 2010. Late 2009 he returned to his hometown of Perth where he is now based. Later that year he travelled to India to study Akhanda Yoga with its founder, Yogi Vishvketu, in the Himalayas. Stuart is truly grateful for this life changing experience, which again took his knowledge of yoga to deeper levels, inspiring him to spread the energy back in the west.
