Ah…Vietnam! If you’ve been wanting to go – I highly recommend it!
My recent trip has reminded how essential is is for my being to have time away, for discovery and travel, for grounding in nature and connecting/reconnecting with friends (particularly women all around a similar perimenopausal age ) for warmth, sunshine, fresh food and a generous welcoming community/culture!!
I spent 7 days at a Wellness Resort with my other yoga crew, led by the wonderful Carmela Lacy, coming together for her 12th annual Yoga Retreat/Adventure: for nurturing, laughter and healing.
We were blessed with daily practices of vinyasa, Myofascial release, yin, mantra, sound healing, Onsen (hot springs) and reflexology, not to mention amazing food, wonderful conversations, loads of laughter, a cooling pool, rural/jungle setting and day spa!
This absolute treat and energetic reset was followed up by the vibrancy, colour and intensity of Hoi An – a beautiful city known for all the colourful lanterns, gondolas and temples (and it’s not far from the beach!).
A retreat theme revealed itself to me with the message “Listen with your Heart” which came on a card on day 1. This intention was interwoven throughout and continues to linger, well after returning home.
I’m now in a period of realignment and self reflection – physically: with weekly Chiro sessions & on a cleansing Spring diet, mentally & emotionally: finding a new rhythm, and spiritually, forever delving into self inquiry… it’s uncomfortable and a little painful at times, but there is also much joy in the journey.
I’m super grateful for the support of Ava, Anaid and our teachers…
and now I have the 7 day Denmark Silent Retreat to look forward to in December. |
